6 DAYS UGANDA BIG FIVE AND WILDLIFE SAFARI.

Tour overview.
Your 6 days Uganda Big Five and wildlife safari takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, Kibale National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Activities during this trip include wildlife viewing, boat cruises, hiking to the top of the falls and Murchison falls viewing, Rhino tracking at Ziwa, chimpanzee tracking, Bigodi wetland nature walk and scenic viewing, equator line experience and many more. Expect to spot Africa’s Big Five animals in their natural habitats namely lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos and elephants as well several animals and bird species roaming freely in their natural habitats.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Pickup and transfer to Murchison falls National Park via Ziwa – evening game drive.
Your driver guide will pick you up very early in the morning and embark on a drive to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking where you will have time with white rhinos in their natural habitat. Lunch will be served at Ziwa restaurant and immediately proceed to Murchison arriving in the afternoon to check-in at your reserved lodge. Have a few hours of relaxation at your lodge and later in the evening hit the northern plains of the Park for an evening game drive hoping to encounter several animals like herds of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, kobs ,waterbucks, reedbucks and many more. Keep your eyes out for the Park’s bird life such as the Abyssinian ground hornbills, grey crowned cranes and many more. Before dusk return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight. 

Day 2: Morning game drive – Boat cruise and Top of the Falls hike.
Today arise very early in the morning and hit the Park’s savannah grasslands with packed breakfast yearning to encounter several nocturnal animals rush back to their hideouts such as hyenas, leopards, lions and many others as well as several grazers like giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, kobs, hippopotamuses and many more. This activity lasts for about 4 hours before returning to the lodge for an early lunch. After lunch report to the Nile River bank for a boat cruise to the bottom of the Falls while you capture the Nile’s aquatic life such as large schools of hippopotamuses, large Nile crocodiles, water associated birds and many others. Having spent up to 2 hours and a half on the Nile River, proceed to the Falls for a hike to its top while capturing the beautiful scenery around. Your attention will be easily drawn away by the thunderous sound of the splashing water looking forward to get into their showers. Photography will be at its peak before jumping back into your vehicle for a drive back to your lodge to have dinner and an overnight. 

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park – Bigodi wetland.
Today morning enjoy your breakfast and checkout of the lodge for your journey to Kibale National Park arriving at your reserved lodge in the perfect time for your lunch. You will have a few hours of relaxation and later on report to the jungle swamp for a walk expecting to spot several primates, birdlife as well as other mammals such as the sitatungas. You will proceed to the local communities where you will mingle with locals as you learn about their cultural norms, values and beliefs. Visiting the coffee queen for a coffee experience is mandatory as well as making a visit to the banana man for local banana brew processing before you get back to your lodge to have dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and proceed to Queen Elizabeth N/P.
Arise very early in the morning for your breakfast, and report to the Park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee tracking. With the guidance of ranger guides, you will proceed into the dense forest to embark on the search of a habituated troop of chimpanzees and finding one may last between 2 to 4 hours. An extra hour is allowed with the chimpanzees for you to have enough of their video clips and photos before you return to the lodge for your lunch. After lunch, you will checkout and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stop at the equator line in Kikorongo for an experience of where the earth is divided into two equal parts arriving in the evening to check-in at your pre-arranged lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive – Kazinga water channel cruise and evening drive.
Arise early in the morning for your breakfast and report for a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains looking forward to spot the Park’s predators like lions, leopards, hyenas, side-striped jackals and many more. Grazers such as elephants, buffaloes, kobs, waterbucks, reedbucks warthogs and many more will be all over the savannahs as they carefully lookout for their predators. After a period of 4 hours return to your lodge for lunch and later on report at Kazinga water channel for a boat cruise looking forward to capture the aquatic life that lies within this water channel. After the boat cruise you will return to the Park’s savannahs to look out for several animals and birds that you might have missed out during the previous morning game drive. Return to your lodge to have dinner and an overnight. 

Day 6: Return to Kampala and departure.
Today arise very early in the morning for your breakfast and checkout to hit the road for your drive back to Kampala with a stop along the way for your lunch. You will later on proceed with your drive to Kampala while enjoying the eye-catching scenery of terraced rolling hills of tea plantations arriving in the evening to either be dropped off at any hotel of your convenience or at the airport in Entebbe to catch your flight back home marking the end of your 6 days safari in Uganda.
