10 DAYS UGANDA PRIMATES AND WILDLIFE SAFARI.

Tour overview.
This is a primates and game viewing safari that takes you to UWEC for an insight into Uganda’s wide range of wildlife species, Murchison falls National Park, Ziwa wildlife ranch for white rhinos, Kibale forest National Park which is a renowned primate capital of the world, Queen Elizabeth National Park that houses up to 600 bird species and 95 mammal species including the rare tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector and Bwindi Impenetrable forests where mountain gorillas lived in harmony with the Batwa pygmies. Activities include wildlife viewing, tracking white rhinos in their natural habitats, hiking to the top of Murchison water falls, boat trips, chimpanzee trekking, gorilla trekking and cultural immersions in the Batwa communities.

Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe – UWEC visit
Our company representative will be waiting at the airport to receive you upon your arrival and transfer you to your reserved hotel in Entebbe. He will then take you through a briefing highlighting your expectations throughout the entire safari as you wait to have lunch in the early afternoon. After lunch you will proceed for an excursion at the Uganda wildlife education center in Entebbe for an insight into what the country has to offer. A variety of bird species will be potted as well as mammals like lions, tiger, giraffes, elephants, zebras and many more as well as several reptiles. Having enjoyed the wildlife center to full capacity, you will heat out for shopping at the mall to purchase which ever items that you may need for your safari. Return to your hotel to have dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls N/P – Ziwa wildlife Ranch & hike to the top of the Falls. 
Arise very early for your breakfast and meet your driver guide for a drive to Murchison falls National Park with your first stop at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhinos. This sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where white rhinos can be seen as they go by their routine activities in the savannahs. This activity takes up to 2 and a half hours including the time you spend with the rhinos. Return the sanctuary headquarters for your lunch at the restaurant and later hit the road for your drive to the Park. Upon your ingress through the Park’s gates, you will proceed with a drive to Murchison waterfalls where you will be making a hike to its top. While hiking to the top of the falls, you will be treated to splendid and mesmerizing views before getting close to the falls for your natural showers. You will experience its roars as the Nile water drops 43 meters into a turbulent pool known as the Devil’s Cauldron. Having enjoyed the falls to the maximum, get into your vehicle and proceed for a short drive to the lodge to have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive – afternoon boat cruise & evening game drive. 
Breakfast will be served as early as 6am and later on meet your guide and head out for a morning game drive through the Park’s savannah plains while you look out for several animals including the nocturnal animals that will be rushing back to their hide outs. Animals to lookout for include herds of elephants, buffaloes, towers of giraffes, lions, leopards, hyenas, black-backed jackals, waterbucks, oribis, dik-dik, warthogs and many others. Bird enthusiasts should expect to spot several avian species like the grey crowned cranes, yellow-billed oxpeckers, Abyssinian ground hornbills, piacpiac, black kites, common starlings, vultures, snake eagles, weavers to mention but a few. The morning excursion in the savannahs lasts for about 4 hours after which you head out for a boat cruise along the Nile River to the bottom of the falls while looking out for the Park’s aquatic life. Get back to your lodge for lunch and later on return to the savannah grasslands for an evening game drive. Before dusk, sign-out of the savannahs back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
Strart with a scrumptious breakfast and checkout to embark on your drive to Kibale National Park while making stopovers to several scenery viewing points along the way. Your last stop will be in Fort Portal for your lunch before proceeding to your lodge in the forest where you will check-in, have dinner and an overnight waiting to encounter our closest cousins in the next morning.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking – Bigodi nature walk & visit local communities.
 Wakeup to the ear-catching calls of several birds for your breakfast and immediately report to Kanyanchu Park headquarters for a briefing of what is expected of you during chimpanzee trekking. Ranger guides will then lead you into the forest to embark on the search of a habituated troop of chimpanzees while spotting several other primates and forest birds. This activity lasts between 2 to 4hours including the one hour you are entitled to stay in their presence. Get back to your lodge for lunch and later on head out for a nature walk through the Bigodi wetland sanctuary where you will spot several primates, other mammals and bird species like the great blue turaco. You will proceed to the local communities for an insight of a true African home setting and culture. You will visit the coffee queen for a local coffee experience as well as the banana man to experience how local gin can be brewed from yellow bananas. Later on return to your lodge to have dinner and an overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – evening game drive. 
 wake up to a relaxed breakfast, checkout and embark on your drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stop-over at the equator line in Kikorongo for an experience of where the globe is bisected into two equal parts. Arrival will be in the perfect time for your lunch, have enough time to relax at your lodge and later head out for an evening game drive in the Park’s Kasenyi plains expecting to spot animals like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, African hare, kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, lions, leopards, bushbucks and many others. Don’t forget to capture the golden sunset kiss the clouds with the backdrops of the Rwenzori Mountain ranges. Return to your lodge to have dinner and an overnight.

Day 7: Morning game drive – Kazinga channel boat cruise & Twin Lakes visit.
 Awaken very early to be energized by a hefty breakfast before reporting to the golden savannah plains of the Park for a morning game drive. Expect to pot a variety of animals such as hippopotamuses rush back to their ponds, herds of elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, waterbucks, lions, warthogs, mongooses, leopards to mention but a few with a variety of bird species. Before the sun gets scorchy, return to your lodge for lunch and later report to Kazinga water channel for a boat cruise expecting to cover its bird life and aquatic animals such as schools of hippopotamuses, large Nile crocodiles, giant monitor lizards and many others. After a period of about 2 and a half hours on a boat cruise, return and head out for a visit to the twin Lakes of Kahinda and Murambi known for beautiful scenery, rich birdlife, local legends and cultural insights into the Bunyaruguru people’s history. Later in the evening return to the lodge for your dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park.
Today, arise very in the morning for your breakfast and checkout to embark on your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through the Ishasha sector where you will have an opportunity to spot tree climbing lions relaxed between fig tree branches as they scan their surroundings for prey. Lunch will be served along the way before arriving to check-in at your pre-arranged lodge in the evening. Have ample time at your lodge balcony gazing at tree canopies covered in haze as you wait to have dinner and an overnight.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking & Batwa cultural experience.
Arise early in the morning for your breakfast and proceed to the Park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking after being ushered into the forest by the Batwa cultural dancers. Having been assigned gorilla families, you will be led into the forest by ranger guides to embark on the
search of these majestic primates. The activity lasts for about 2 to 6 hours depending on how far the gorillas could have moved in search for food. An hour is allowed close to the gorillas before you return back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will headout for a cultural experience of the Batwa pygmies for an insight about their current life style and how they lived in the past in harmony with mountain gorillas in the Bwindi forests. You will learn how they started fire by rubbing sticks, try out
their hunting techniques, experience their tree houses and enjoy their electrifying cultural performances before you think of returning to your lodge for inner and an overnight.

Day 10: Transfer back to Kampala & departure.
Today morning wake up unrushed for your breakfast, checkout and meet your driver guide for your long drive back to Kampala with your first stop in Mbarara for your lunch. After lunch, proceed with your drive making another sop-over at the equator line in Kayabwe and later a drop-off at your hotel in
Kampala or at Entebbe international airport for your outbound flight back home marking the end of your 10 days safari in Uganda.
