1 DAY CHIMPANZEES AT NGAMBA ISLAND.

Tour overview.
This is a one day’s trip to Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary known to harbor orphaned and rescued chimpanzees from poachers around East Africa. This chimpanzee sanctuary situated on Lake Victoria has an area cover of over 100 acres with about 43 hectares of a tropical rainforest where chimpanzees roam. The sanctuary is run by the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust, founded way back in 1998 and hosting over 52 chimpanzees 
to date as well as several other wildlife species. The highlight of your trip will be viewing and feeding chimpanzees from a raised suspended platform. 

Detailed itinerary.
Pickup is very early in the morning to embark on a drive to the Lake shores of Lake Victoria in Entebbe where you will be catching up your boat ride to Ngamba Island as early as 8:00am. The ride lasts for about 2 and a half hours arriving at the sanctuary for an insight into the history as well as goals and objectives of this renowned Chimpanzee Sanctuary. After an orientation by the chimpanzee care givers, you will take part in food preparations for the chimpanzees before you are taken to a raised platform area along the edge of the sanctuary fence to be treated with sightings of several chimpanzees feed while others go by their routine lifestyle. You will also be in position to capture scenic views of Lake Victoria, several birds both forest and water dwellers. Other sightings may include the giant monitor lizard, monkeys of different kinds and many others. Lunch will be served immediately after your chimpanzee exploration after which you will set off for your boat ride back to Entebbe with a stop at the equator line in Lake Victoria to have your feet in the two hemispheres of the globe. Proceed for a drop off at your residence in Entebbe or Kampala marking the end of your short trip to the Island of Chimpanzees.
