Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Jinja with stops at Ssezibwa falls and Mabira forest (Griffin falls).
The trip starts very early in the morning with a pickup at the area of your residence in Kampala or Entebbe and embark on a drive to Jinja with stops at Ssezibwa waterfalls and Mabira forest. At Ssezibwa waterfalls, you will capture its scenic beauty, make a hike to its top as well as have an insight into the fall’s significance to the Buganda Kingdom evidenced by the cultural and traditional practices that will be seen taking place. You will proceed to Mabira forest where you will be ushered in by forest birds, monkeys such as the red-tailed, vervet, colobus monkeys and many others. Report to the briefing spot to learn about what is required of you during the zip-lining activity. Experienced zip-lining guides will lead you through the old trees as you traverse a network of five zip-lines while watching the forest layers from a vintage point high in the tree canopies. Get off the zip-lines for a hike to Griffin waterfalls while being treated to the sightings of several primates, birds and butterfly species. Return to the visitors’ center and proceed with your drive to Jinja with another stop for your lunch before arriving to check-in at your hotel. After checking-in, you may decide to make a visit to the Rail way museum, Jinja central market or relax at your hotel waiting to have dinner and an overnight.
Day 2: Cruise to the source of the Nile and departure.
Arise today morning for a scrumptious breakfast and report to the Lake shores for a boat ride to the source of the Nile. Along your cruise, expect to spot a variety of bird species such as the African fish eagle, various kingfishers, African darters, herons and many others. You will experience the Nile River starting its journey and have an opportunity to take photos at the marked spot known to be the source of the Nile River. Visit the sailing craft shop to have some souvenirs for yourself back home. Retire off the cruise to embark on your drive back to Kampala or Entebbe marking the end of your 2 days in Jinja.
